Wandle Industrial Museum

We are pleased to announce that, as an integral part of the River Wandle Community, the Wandle Industrial Museum will be leading an afternoon workshop at The River Summit & Festival on 21st May at Morden Hall.

Founded in 1983 by Kevin Leydon, The Wandle Industrial Museum’s mission has since been to preserve, store, and interpret the heritage and history of the industries and people of the River Wandle.

At The River Summit & Festival on 21st May, the museum team will be hosting a textile printing demonstration, showcasing a short film about the block printing method used by the calico mills on the Wandle, a display highlighting the works of William Morris, Kilburn and Liberty's along with patterns by these designers, and providing the opportunity for individuals to make their own print based on Morris & Co patterns.

If you and your community organisation are interested in attending, find out how to get involved here.
