Tickets now live for the UK River Summit 2025
The UK River Summit has announced the ticket launch for the upcoming 2025 event at Morden Hall, London, on 8th July which promises to bring together a diverse range of environmental stakeholders who all share a desire to work towards a more positive future for our rivers.
This unaffiliated event, curated by an independent team, was set out to facilitate a forum for interested parties and stakeholders involved with the range of issues affecting UK rivers, from policy makers, regulators, campaigners, anglers, wild swimmers, surfers, anglers, media, businesses, brands, artists, film makers, celebrities, politicians, and members of the public. The event aims to provide a platform for collaboration and communication on the current issues and solutions required to improve the health of our rivers.
Now in its third year running, The UK River Summit concept is growing exponentially. This year, the event was attended by over 250 people on 21st May 2024 at Morden Hall. Speakers ranged from Philip Duffy (CEO Environment Agency), Lawrence Gosden (CEO of Southern Water), Penny Gane (Head of Practice, Fish Legal), Feargal Sharkey, Jim Murray and many more and Panel discussions at the event included “It’s not all about sewage”, “The Freshwater Emergency: from scarcity to abundance”, “Future of Farming”, “Effecting Policy in Rivers”, a cross-party discussion on water security for the future with leading politicians and “The History of the River Wandle” talk with Dr Jack Hogan.
Event partners included Filson, The National Trust, Proteus Instruments, South East Rivers Trust, Fish Legal, Orvis UK, River Action UK, The Rivers Trust, Surfers Against Sewage, The Wandle Piscators, The Wandle Industrial Museum, YETI, Delivita, Lakedown Brewing Co., and Abel & Cole.
The UK River Summit 2025 will offer interested parties the opportunity to build relationships and network while also finding time to celebrate our rivers, engage in community-led initiatives, and experiences based on the river Wandle, a unique chalk stream flowing through an heavily urbanised area intertwining a rich historical past with a current ecological importance. There will be a focus on current issues around river health, including water scarcity and human responsibility.
